Sankalpagite is poem writen by Sri G S Sivarudrappa. Guggari Shanthaveerappa Shivarudrappa (7 February 1926 – 23 December 2013), or colloquially GSS, was an Indian Kannada poet, writer, and researcher who was awarded the title of Rashtrakavi (national poet) by the Government of Karnataka in 2006. Sankalpagite writer Shivarudrappa earned his BA in 1949 and his MA in 1953 from the University of Mysore, receiving gold medals on three occasions. A devoted student and admirer of Kuvempu, he drew significant inspiration from Kuvempu’s literary contributions and life.[citation needed]
In 1965, Shivarudrappa was awarded a doctorate for his thesis Saundarya Samīkṣe (Kannada: ಸೌಂದರ್ಯ ಸಮೀಕ್ಷೆ), a groundbreaking work in literary aesthetics, completed under the mentorship of Kuvempu.
