“ಕಟ್ಟುವುದು ಕಠಿಣ, ಕೆಡಹುವುದು ಸುಲಭ” ಎಂಬುದು ಬಹಳ ಅರ್ಥಪೂರ್ಣವಾದ ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಾದೆಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ಗಾದೆಯ ಅರ್ಥ ಏನೆಂದರೆ, ಯಾವುದಾದರೂ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವುದು, ಅದನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸುವುದು ಅಥವಾ ಸಾಧಿಸುವುದು ತುಂಬಾ ಕಷ್ಟ. ಆದರೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಹಾಳುಮಾಡುವುದು ಅಥವಾ ನಾಶಪಡಿಸುವುದು ತುಂಬಾ ಸುಲಭ.

ಪ್ರಕೃತಿಯ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಇದೇ ಸತ್ಯ. ಒಂದು ಮರ ಬೆಳೆಯಲು ಹಲವು ವರ್ಷಗಳು ಬೇಕಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಕಡಿದು ಹಾಕಲು ಕೆಲವೇ ನಿಮಿಷಗಳು ಸಾಕು. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಾವು ಮಾಡುವ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಮಹತ್ವ ನೀಡಬೇಕು ಮತ್ತು ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು.
