Nanna Hagey is a poem written by Shri Ekkundi. Nanna Hagey kannada poem about lord Bahubali. A war breaks out between Vrishabhanatha’s sons, Bharata and Bahubali, for the kingdom. In the war, Bahubali defeats his elder brother Bharata in fistfights, waterfights and eyefights. Bharata, humiliated by this, tries to kill Bahubali. Fed up, Bahubali hands over the won kingdom to Bharata and goes to perform penance. In this way, Bahubali preaches to the world the noble principle of renouncing pleasure and becoming a savior. A great head anointment is performed once every 12 years for the Gommata idol, which is a symbol of self-respect, sacrifice and non-violence. This poem depicts the conversation between a child and his grandfather after seeing the great marrow of the Gommata idol in Shravanabelagola and the innocence of the child.
